It's an exciting time for motorization. There have been many advancements and improvements in the last few years. Many window treatments can now be motorized using DC powered systems. These systems greatly, or totally eliminate, the need for complicated wiring. They are also a lot less costly than their AC counterparts.
AC powered systems have come a long way also. There are simple systems that require little wiring as well as full blown systems that can tie into home automation or be triggered by light sources.
