Solar Shades, sometimes called Museum Shades, Solar Screens, Solar Veils, etc., are shades that are transparent yet still filter out harmful sun rays. They are generally made out of a Mylar film or a PVC Solar Screen.

The Mylar variety can only be used as Clutch Rollershades. They are available in clear and various tints.

The Solar Screens can also be a simple Clutch Shade but can be used to construct various Roman and Pleated style shades. They are available in MANY weaves and colors offering a large range of openness and protection.

Myth
Installing a Solar Shade will allow you to see out and not allow your neighbors to see in. This statement is not true. These shades have a similar effect to one-way glass. They allow you to see from dark to light. Therefore, during the day you can see out but at night, with the lights on, people could see in.
