Radiator Covers

Radiator introWe partner with exceptional carpenters to bring you beautiful custom made radiator covers. These finely crafted pieces transform any radiator into a functional masterpiece. Our designers work collaboratively with you and the carpenter to create a piece of furniture that complements your decor, gives you more functional space, and helps your radiator work more efficiently in your space.

Custom radiator covers add a distinctive clean and simple look that is not only attractive but energy efficient.  They complement your current decor by covering up unsightly exposed radiators and at the same time direct heat into the heart of a room providing increased warmth.

Benefits of Radiator Covers

If you’re considering a radiator cover, keep these benefits in mind:

  • Improve your room aesthetics. Older model radiators can be unattractive. Radiator covers dramatically improve the look of the space for less money than replacing the radiator. An old, ugly radiator can be transformed into an attractive cabinet that not only hides the radiator but enhances the look of a space.
  • Decrease hazards. Hot radiators can be dangerous, especially to children and pets. Concealing them with a beautiful radiator cover reduces the likelihood of a hazardous accident.
  • Gain space and storage. The area around a radiator, especially above, is wasted space. A cabinet-style radiator cover gives you some extra space. Cabinets or shelves built to to the side of the radiator can also add functional space to your room while maintaining safety around the radiator.
  • Easy maintenance. A radiator with a radiator cover requires much less cleaning than one without a cover. Older cast iron radiators in particular can be time-consuming to keep clean. Using a radiator cover reduces tiresome cleaning and re-painting.

Powder-Coated Metal Radiator Covers

Powder-coated metal radiator covers are excellent in transmitting most of the radiator’s heat back into the room.  Because heat flows upward, the closed top being metal, captures heat and transmits it into the room.

Solid Wood Radiator Covers

Solid wood radiator covers tend to cost a bit more than metal covers, but they act more like a piece of furniture.  Since wood tops provide enough insulation against heat, you can place personal items on them. Because wood is a good insulator, wood radiator enclosures will not transmit heat to the degree that metal covers will.
